Gary Kirkley was recently working as a part time inspector, having undertaken thousands of lesson observations. He has been a teacher of EAL / ESOL, mathematics, music and MFL in primary and secondary schools; a tutor in a sixth form college; a head teacher in an independent special school; a quality manager and key skills coordinator for construction in an FE College; and team leader / manager for teacher training of SEN and mathematics in university. He is a national expert for Ofqual and an examiner for awarding bodies. He lives between Lancashire and Normandy. Recently, he has been working as an intervention tutor in an independent primary school with pupils whose first language is not English.
