Whole school lockdown art project. During the lockdown of the Spring Term, we wished to create a piece of art, bringing the whole of our school community together. All the pupils in the school were asked to send in a leaf, with a word of something that made them happy, and a piece of fabric, such as from an old loved piece of clothing, blanket or ribbon. These pieces were then woven by the key worker pupils and art teacher onto a wooden tree shape, to create the bark and branches of the tree. The leaves were attached to wires which were then threaded and attached to the branches. This piece of work, which stands at just over 2m tall, is now proudly displayed in our art gallery corridor as a reminder of our school family coming together when physically apart, where the children and teachers love to try to spot their own leaves and fabric.
