SATIPS IT broadsheet editor Mark Templeman was recently quoted in Independent Education Today on how schools can protect staff and students online.
Mark, who is deputy head and director of studies at Brockhurst and Marlston House Schools, told the magazine: “Most schools filter online content and implement real-time monitoring. However, safety issues can arise at home outside school hours as children spend more time online.
“To assist, we trained one of our staff as a CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection Command) ambassador. They are educating our pupils in how to keep themselves safe online when they are outside the purview of the school. They also help staff stay up-to-date with online trends.”
As editor of the SATIPS IT broadsheet, Mark regularly shares advice and tips on online safety and all things IT related. SATIPS members can access the SATIPS broadsheets online here. If you’re not a SATIPS member and would like to become one, please contact us.
