SATIPS is consistently looking to provide added benefits for our member schools, and we are aware that many Senior Leaders in schools are so busy that they rarely have the time or opportunities to research and source the most appropriate suppliers for the many and varied services that their schools require.

Accordingly, to assist our member schools, SATIPS has developed a group of ‘Preferred Suppliers’. These are companies and organisations that offer high quality services and products. They have been fully reviewed by SATIPS and can be confidently recommended. In essence SATIPS has removed the need for senior members of schools to search for potential suppliers, for SATIPS has fulfilled that requirement.

Crucially the Preferred Suppliers have pledged to offer their very best prices to member schools, more favourable than available to other schools.

The following are the Preferred Suppliers that have been finalised:

  • Books – Browns Books for Students
  • Caps – The 1839 Company
  • Energy consumption and renewables – The Green Business Company
  • Fire Protection and Equipment – Smiths Fire LLP
  • Handwriting pens, pencils and educational supplies – Nexus The Educators Connection Ltd
  • Housekeeping (Cleaning) Audits – The CAP Award Programme
  • Legionella Testing and Water Hygiene – P&W Water Hygiene Ltd.
  • Photographs – PhotoDay
  • Printing – Neil Terry Design & Print
  • Ski and Educational Travel – IBT Travel
  • Sports Tours – Lions Sports Tours
  • Wines – Austin-Bailey Wines

More detailed information about each Preferred Supplier is set out below.

To benefit from being members of SATIPS, schools must provide their SATIPS membership number when making contact with any Preferred Supplier.

HOUSEKEEPING (CLEANING) AUDITS

THE CAP AWARD PROGRAMME FOR HOUSEKEEPING (CLEANING) SERVICES promotes and delivers excellence within schools.

The CAP Award Programme (Continuous Advancement Programme) quite simply steers the development of housekeeping and laundry services for the betterment of the service users – the pupils and staff. We now more than ever need to provide assurance to the pupils, families and staff that steps have been taken and are being proactively reviewed to ensure their safety and well-being.  The Programme’s role is to help the Housekeeping team provide these assurances by working with them on every Department’s working practices, productivity, outward communications, auditing, compliance with the latest COVID-19 procedures, technology and inter-action with other Departments.

The importance of cleanliness has now been escalated to a new level.  The Head of Housekeeping can cut a lonely figure as they manage an array of expectations and demands.  The pressures are great and yet no doubt they will continue to show the ‘can do’ face.  The Programme guides and works with the Housekeeping team to ensure that the expectations on standards are being delivered in the most effective manner whilst unloading some of the weight being carried by the Housekeeping Department.  Experience tells us that the specialism required to deliver a successful service should not be under-estimated, yet, sadly, it is sometimes seen ‘as just cleaning’.  It really does involve so much more to achieve the essential and necessary quality / cost balance.

To Find out how the CAP Award Programme can benefit your School, contact the CAP Award Programme’s nominated representative Ian Jackson on 01858 540200 or 07775716393 (email: Ian@capaward.co.uk)
