TARGET AUDIENCE: Suitable for School Librarians, Teachers, Directors of Studies and Academic Deputies – anyone who is interested in digital media

DATE: Thursday 8th October (2.00pm – 4.00pm) & Monday 12th October (2.00pm – 2.30pm)

This Course will introduce you to many different sites which you can use to create resources for your Library or classroom.  All resources shown are provided in a handout to keep, with fantastic display suggestions, lesson icebreakers and motivating electronic ideas which you can use to really get your pupils switched on to learning and reading. Examples of how you can use these sites will be provided, and a follow up session for any queries will be arranged. Advice on how to use digital media and QR codes to enthuse your students will be given, to mention just a few practical ‘takeaways’ that you will get from this session.

SPEAKER: Bev Humphrey

Bev is currently a Literacy & Technology Consultant as well as filling the role of Digital Content Manager for the School Library Association. Additionally she is a trainer for both Accessit and Accelerated Reader. Bev was given a Reading Hero Award by the National Literacy Trust in the National Year of Reading and a literacy project which she runs, The Write Path, has been shortlisted for several awards including the TES Literacy Award. Happiest when she is online, Bev loves to share her expertise with others whatever their level of prior knowledge, and her enthusiasm for ‘all things tech’ is infectious.

A main session of 2 hours plus a half hour session within one week to troubleshoot any problems that might have been encountered in the follow-up suggestions.

The webinar will be delivered via GoToMeeting. Delegates can either use their own webcams/microphones to ask questions or they can do so via a chat box.

You will need a link to the meeting room which will be emailed one week in advance with instructions on using the video conferencing site. You can either join in via a web browser, by downloading an app on to your laptop or via a phone or tablet.

You will receive a full resource list. The session will be recorded and available on Bev’s website for a limited time.
